“Will I Get A New Year’s Kiss?”

My mailbox is being flooded right now. I almost feel like I’m experiencing a little “inbox anxiety.”
Over the last week I’ve been getting the same email constantly. People are getting invited to New Year’s Eve parties, and they have a major dilemma. They’re quite shy, and they’re worried about having someone to kiss at Midnight. I mean, men and women are seriously freaking out about this. “What if I don’t have anyone to kiss when New Year arrives? What if no men approach me?”
What does it matter?
New Year’s Eve is the most over-hyped night in the world. To me it’s just a Tuesday night, and that’s it. It means nothing to me. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…
When the calendar flips to January 1st 2014, it’s a great opportunity to “start again” and to begin making changes in your life, but every day of the year is an opportunity to make those changes. Your life doesn’t change just because 2014 turns up. If you were shy in 2013 you’ll still be shy in 2014 unless you make some changes. The date on the calendar is irrelevant.
You need to get this New Year’ Eve mentality out your head right now. It doesn’t matter. A much more productive way to spend New Year’s Eve, would be to sit at home alone and write down exactly how you want to change yourself in the coming year. Write down how you’re going to achieve those goals, so you don’t have another New Year’s Eve on your own like this one.
A Midnight kiss honestly doesn’t make a difference. You’re still going to wake up in the morning, and you’re still going to be you. It’s just another Tuesday night. Take the pressure off yourself. The momentum you’ve built up over the last 52 weeks has got you to exactly where you’re going to be New Year’s Eve.
Have you done enough in the last 364 days to deliver the results you wanted? Could you have done more? How are you going to change what you do in 2014? Because January the 1st leads to January the 2nd. Just as January 3rd leads to January 4th. You’re building momentum every single day. Are you doing enough to make the changes you desire?
That’s what you should be thinking about. Not whether you’re kissed at Midnight. It’s not like you’re at the High School Prom anymore. It doesn’t make you any less of a desirable woman. Think about the little things you do every day, because it’s those small steps which will change your life!
