Yes, it’s a play on words.
We are app of control.
There is an app for everything.
It’s really getting out of control. A friend of mine came over the other day and he told me that he was sending a package to my house. So I grabbed the package out of my room.
And I handed it to him and said, what is it, a pair of sneakers?
Said no, it’s an electronic toothbrush. I said, cool. What kind? He says, well it’s the kind that literally talks directly to your iPhone.
And I was like, great, something else that talks directly to the iPhone. Like we don’t have enough of the iPhone with Instagram talking directly to it.
And all the other apps that want to give you notifications non-stop.
Now your teeth need to be talking directly to your iPhone because every time you look at your phone, you should have pearly whites and fantastic teeth. Otherwise, Siri is going to look at you and say to yourself, gee dude, your teeth are a little yellow, you need to use this toothbrush just a little bit more.
We really are app of control.
So I said, how does this work?
He says, oh it’s great, it’s real simple. You brush your teeth and if you didn’t brush a certain area enough, your phone will literally tell you that you need to go in and brush more.
And I’m thinking to myself, how? How do they know that? Is the phone in your mouth?
Or is there a little camera at the tip of the toothbrush that literally shows all the plaque that’s in your mouth?
How does this work?
And the question we really need to ask is, why do we need everything to be on our fucking phones?
Why does every move we make need to make need to be logged on our phones? Why do we need to constantly report it? Why do we need to know how many steps we’ve taken in a day?
Why do we need to know how much food we’ve eaten a day?
Is our shit scheduled on our phone?
Don’t we look at our phones enough?
Aren’t we looking at our phones more than enough in our lives?
There’s probably a 60% chance you’re reading this blog right now on your phone.
We’re constantly creating new apps for everything we do so we can constantly stay connected to what? What exactly are we staying connected to?
Why are we staying connected to all these little things 24/7? What is the exact reasoning behind us constantly staying connected?
Can we just brush our teeth and be done with it?
Do we need to know how many steps we’ve taken?
Do we need to literally become that neurotic and count every single calorie?
Do we need to know where our iPhone is 24/7?
I’m just confused by having a report into our phone, because the more we report into our phone, well, the more the companies are keeping abreast of us.
You don’t think everything you every buy from Amazon isn’t reported in to the algorithms of Amazon so they know exactly what to buy or sell you the very, very next time?
You don’t think Facebook is reporting in and literally finding out all of your habits from all your postings on Facebook?
We truly are out of control with our phones.
Because we are constantly giving up so much information. Now the toothbrush companies are going to know exactly who brushes their teeth more than anybody else.
We’re reporting in to everything. We’re going to be easy to track, easy to follow, easy to learn, easy to understand.
If we get on Instagram, and all the sudden you look and you see ads that are literally well, exactly what you want to see, because they know exactly by what you’ve been positing, what type of stuff they need to sell you.
That’s right: the algorithms are that strong, yet we’re constantly allowing ourself to be even more involved with it and giving it more information. We’re gladly giving information to everything that goes on our phones because we think our phone is a trusted device.
We hold our phone more than we hold the hands of humans.
We’re so trusting of everything that’s in Phone World.
But don’t you realize that Phone World is actually reporting in to other worlds? Phone World is taking money out of your pocket. Phone World is learning all about your habits. Phone World is literally reporting to all the marketing companies and advertising companies and companies to sell you more shit.
And forget about what Facebook actually does, because it’s literally monitoring every single move you make.
There’s nothing private any more. And we constantly give this information to everybody because we feel safe and think it’s so cool to do that.
We feel so safe that we post everything we do on Facebook. Think about what really could be happening.
Big brother isn’t just watching, big brother is beyond watching because big brother is all the toothbrush companies that have an app, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and all these other things.
They’re literally watching every single move you make. And, because you think it’s so cool and so fun, and you feel so safe because it’s in your phone, you’re gladly giving out all your information.
Nothing is private anymore, including brushing your teeth.
We are totally and incurably app of control.
