I’m not a huge fan of Tinder dating at all. I find that it really stacks the odds against you.

Let’s look at the way online dating has progressed for a second, and then I want you to watch this video on how to succeed in Tinder.

The Dawn of Online Dating

When you’re online dating, you’re spending a lot of time swiping and looking. Let’s go back in time. Remember when Match.com, OkCupid, and all those dating sites launched?

It was interesting in a way. You had to go and put pictures of yourself online. You had to actually write a profile that enabled people, strangers, to see who you are and what you’re all about. You’d write about the things you like to do, like taking long walks on the beach.

There were so many things that you could do when it came to meeting a girl online – write your story, read your story, go back and forth, read it again, feel like there was some intimacy. But that wasn’t enough for people. Online dating just wasn’t working very well for a lot of people.

A lot of people weren’t great writers, and a lot of men didn’t understand how to connect emotionally when it came down to connecting with women online. So some geniuses got together and thought, Why not? Why not just put a picture up so all you need to do is swipe, stare at each other’s pictures, and make a decision based on a picture and a few words of text?

And most of you decided to start swiping. Some of you got laid because women were getting really sick and tired of seeing guys in shirtless photos, and you just put the best photo up of yourself and were actually able to text and have a conversation. You were able to go and meet somebody.

But where does that leave us when it comes down to having relationships and dating?
