Love!
Isn’t that why we’re all here? We’re all here because we want to be in love. To find love and to feel love. Love is an amazing feeling. Love is one of the greatest feelings we have as humans. It’s so powerful and it feels yummy inside. I remember when I was younger and I fell in love for the very first time. It was with a girl named Kris. Kris was my high school sweetheart. I remember the day I told her I loved her.
We were outside on her deck. We were together for about two and a half weeks. Her mom had passed away. I stood in the chilly October air, looked into her eyes, and I told her I loved her and I’d be there for her because I felt that. To me, love was about protecting and honoring her in that moment.
Love was letting go, and being there for her. Love was such a beautiful thing to experience at 17. I felt all yummy inside. I felt beautiful inside. I felt overwhelmed. It actually consumed me. Every time I’ve fallen in love, it’s been different. Each time I’ve been in love, it’s shaken and rocked my world.
I remember when I fell in love with my daughter’s mom. I remember the feeling of knowing that I was in love with her. I remember going on an airplane to London the very next day when I realized that I was in love with this woman, that she was going to be mine, and that we were going to have a relationship.
I remember feeling that feeling, that feeling of falling in love, that thing that hits you, that lightning bolt. I remember reclining in my seat all the way down, closing my eyes, and feeling it from head to toe. I got tingles, and I got that yummy feeling all throughout my body.
Love is amazing. Every time we fall in love, it releases the oxytocin in our brain. It fires off chemical reactions, and it makes us feel things we’ve never felt before. How do we get there? How do we get to that feeling of love? How are we able to be in love every single day?
My recent trip back East, I was out in Montauk. Montauk is out on the end of Long Island, the end of the world. There’s a beautiful bar called the Crow’s Nest. It’s attached to a hotel that sits on an inlet. You can walk across the lawn and have a drink by the water at an outdoor bar. Lit by Tiki-torches. It’s romantic, it’s beautiful and it’s inspiring.
Being there made me think about falling in love, and it inspired me.
I got inspiration to film a video and share something with you. What I’m about to share with you is what I consider a very simple definition of love. I’d like you to play this video. Watch it. Open that beautiful heart of yours. Share the video. And understand what the definition of love is to me.
