The #1 Mistake That Keeps You From Meeting People

I’m sitting here having a great conversation with a guy who said something really interesting. He said, “You know, I was living in Los Angeles for five years and always thought the people just weren’t that friendly here. Now I just spent a day and a half hanging out with you, and I realized that the people are really friendly.”
Here is the number one mistake people make when they want to meet people. They fail to grasp the concept that life is a mirror.
If you think that people are not friendly, it means that you are taking the position of waiting for people to be friendly to your unfriendliness. Confused? Think about it.
Here you are walking around all day long with the mindset that people are not friendly. When you do that, your energy conveys to others that you are not open, unfriendly and unapproachable.
I walk around all day long thinking people are friendly. No matter where I am, I think people are friendly, and want to talk and hang out. Because of that, people talk to me all day long.
It’s all about your mindset. If you believe people are friendly then they will be, but guess who has to be friendly first? You!
As a man (or a woman), you’re in full control of your life. Why do you want to be a waiter? Do you want to sit back and wait for thing to come to you, or do you want to really dictate how your life and each day are going to be?
When you have the attitude that people aren’t friendly, you are basically walking around all day long waiting for someone to prove you wrong. When you do that, at the end of the day you will have usually talked to no one.
Dictate your own life. You’re the leader of your life.
Look at life as your own movie. Do you want to live a friendly movie or do you want to live a sad, black comedy?
The friendly movie involves the guy who walks around all day long talking to people and learning things. It involves the guy who connects with people and ends up dating that woman he is most interested in at the end of the day.
The black comedy involves the guy who walks around wondering why no one is talking to him, and why people are so unfriendly. It involves the guy who never meets the woman he truly wants to meet.
