Here’s a subject that normally gets a few peoples panties in a twist. Sex before marriage. And someone asked me in an email what my thoughts were on it, so I figured, why not put it in a blog and get your opinions too. So do I agree or disagree with sex before marriage?
Come, all of you know me. Two people shouldn’t have sex until they’ve committed to each other for life?
Are you kidding me?
It’s like going to a car dealer and buying a car without test-driving it. It’s like paying a fortune for a brand new pair of shoes without trying them on. It’s like spending your life savings buying a house you’ve only ever seen from the outside. It looks great outside, so why not invest cent you ever earned in it?
You must be out your mind if you still believe in no sex before marriage. Yes, I know there are some religious or old-fashioned people out there. But you’re playing Russian roulette with your sex life. So many people I’ve been amazingly attracted to, and then we got to the bedroom and found out we weren’t compatible together. Everyone has different energies, sex drives, desires, kissing styles, and everything.
There are people out there that hold out for marriage, and I think it’s so dangerous. Sex is one of the most important parts of a successful long-term relationship. It’s the glue, which keeps the relationship together. It’s fun and we all have different definitions of what great sex is.For me, great sex is a three-hour marathon session on a Friday night. I love it. There’s nothing better than to connect with your lover all night long. There’s nothing more amazing that to be touched, held, kissed, and to make love endlessly.
I love that. Now, some of you might be reading thinking to yourself that it’s too long. Some of you might prefer a 15-minute quickie and to call it a day. How can you know if you’re compatible with someone until you’ve test drive them? It’s crazy. I still get emails who from people who tell me, “David, I’m holding out until I get married to have sex.”
And I always tell them in my opinion they’re making a mistake. This is 2014. Enjoy sex. Stop acting like sex is some kind of taboo. Sex is healthy. Sex is fun. And sex is something you need to sample before you settle down with someone. How do you know you like the food at a restaurant unless you’ve tasted it?
Do you really want to spend the rest of your life with someone who doesn’t turn you on in the bedroom?
No matter how much you love someone, I’m telling you, it will put a strain on your relationship. Go and have lots of sex, and figure out what you want.
