One of the evergreen questions in the dating world today is do you rent or own your home? Inquiring minds want to know because it delineates between the have and have nots. It’s also an indicator of status. But fear not. There something you can own right now. Your words.

In this world we are all trying to be somebody. We all want to be a contender. What about with women? How does a man stand a chance while vying for the opposite sex? Own your words. Don’t rent. Renters promise outlandish fantasies. They promise women the moon when they know they can’t deliver the dust on the floor. Then they cook up some lame excuse to get out of whatever it is they promised but couldn’t deliver.

I recently went on a date with a man who rents his words. Within the first fifteen minutes of dinner he was going to take me to Vail and South Carolina on a family vacation. Over desert he asked if the Fall was too cold for a trip to France. Needless to say, I never heard from him again. There was no proof in that pudding. I’m glad he disappeared. I don’t have time for riff raff renters. I want a man who keeps his promises – a man who owns his words.

Intuitively women know whether a man rents or owns. In the first five minutes of the date we do an intuitive scan. A man who owns his words offers women what he knows he can deliver and takes responsibility for said delivery. He doesn’t need to offer anything more that what he already has because he values what he owns. A man who owns his words is congruent. And congruence is a level of sexy you can’t buy – you either have it or you don’t.

The good news is that you don’t need to save for a down payment to start owning your words. Simply take stock of what you’ve got and start with that. What are your glowing qualities? Do you have a brilliant sense of humor? Can you make a pomodoro sauce so delicious that any woman will fall in love with you? Do you volunteer for Senior Smiles? Do you give a good back scratch? Turn good into great by owning whatever it is you do well as forever yours and then share it with the world, including women.

If you’re renting your words you’d better start owning them now. Or else good luck Chuck and bye bye. You’re a poser. Nothing more. And forget about renting to own. Quality women aren’t interested in a romantic lay-a-way plan. Certainly if you’ve already read this far – you’re done renting. You’re ready to step-up and own your words. Remember, ownership is powerful. And powerful is sexy. Sexy attracts. Powerful sexy own-their-words-type of men don’t stop – they continue to acquire, expand and diversity their portfolio – not of women but rather what they have to offer women. Like attracts like. When you own your words, you attract women who do the same.
