I’m at the gym and I’m watching the TV that’s on and I see an ad for repossessed auto sale.
It’s at 1191 Boulevard in Horthar.
There were lots of cars in the background. I don’t know what they’re saying. I don’t even notice the type of cars there are. All I notice is the cute sexy Hispanic girl.
She’s wearing a yellow dress with a crisscross in the front, no bra, and being able to see 70% boob.
She could be telling me the world is coming to the end and I most likely wouldn’t be hearing.
Marketing is just so brilliant, right?
Put a sexy woman wearing a low cut dress, selling cars and talking about repossessed autos for men that have bad credit. Immediately the men are going to go down to the car lot to go see if that girl in the yellow dress is there.
Brilliant. And it works. And it’s been working for thousands of years.
Women wearing next to nothing will always get a man’s attention.
But there seems to be a marketing double standard, and I’m going to explain how.
If you look through the best online profiles on Tinder, Bumble, Match.com, or POF…
The women who get the most amount of response are women that wear the slinky black dress.
Or put a bikini shot up.
They’ll write something cute and coy, but most men aren’t going to pay attention to the cute and coy. Most men are basically going to do what?
Contact her because they see her in a bikini.
But if a man does the same exact thing, the man puts himself up on an online dating site and he’s got a ripped body and he wears a bathing suit, guess what happens?
The women get upset.
They can’t believe that you put a bathing suit shot up. What’s up with the shirtless men?
It’s called the marketing double standard.
It seems to be running rampant in our country.
Constantly, there are ads about women. There are ads with women in them wearing sexy things. Even marketing to women.
Women marketing to women will wear sexy things so that women buys the dress.
Or so she’ll have beautiful skin. It’s all about how beauty sells and literally sucks us in.
It’s been like this for a long time, and it’s the way marketing truly is.
It’s all looks-oriented, and there truly is a double standard.
As I’m watching right now there’s another company called Sonobello.com. It shows larger women who somehow or another got the targeted fat removed and they can look like the women in the after pictures, which are pretty damn hot.
There’s a man, which is interesting. He’s shirtless in the before picture but he doesn’t have his shirt off in the after picture.
Everything is based on looks. Everything.
Everything in marketing is based on looks. It’s fascinating to watch.
What does it mean for our society, what does it mean for how we are?
People always say you’ve got to compare yourself to other people. Nothing is going to change. Just be happy in your own skin. Do what it takes to attract the opposite sex.
Nothing is going to change on a daily basis.
If you’re sick of the double standard, or you’re sick of always feeling like everything in dating — and especially online dating — has to be so looks-based, then you have to look within.
Stop buying the dress just because the girl looks good in it.
Stop applying for a high-interest loan just because there’s some scantily clad girl in the commercial.
And that’s all I really wanted to share today with all of you.
Have an amazing Christmas.
