I want to share something personal with all you guys today.
When I was in sixth grade I had a really good friend name Brett Parker.
Brett and I grow up in the suburbs.
His mom was fun, crazy, and dated just about every single man out there.
That was a little too much for an 11 year old Brett to handle.
So what happened? Brett and I became best friends. From sixth to eighth grade Brett would sleep over my house during the week.
You didn’t have during the week sleep overs ever as a kid. But for some reason or another it was okay with Brett’s mom and okay with my mom.
Brett taught me a lot about life.
I was shy sixth, seventh, and eighth grade. Brett had a charismatic personality and girls didn’t fear him.
Brett would coach me, teach me what to say.
Literally give me a script, which a lot of you guys always want.
I had my first cigarette with Brett. It was a stale Camel cigarette that we smoked together.
I realized at that moment I didn’t like cigarettes.
So Brett and I had this friendship that was amazing.
Brett went to high school, I went to high school, we drifted apart. He moved into the city and he became “cool.” I was just a suburban dude.
We didn’t reconnect again for another 25 years.
By the time we got back in contact he was getting a divorce and his life had completely changed. Here was a guy that in his 20s was super confident, could meet woman anywhere, have one night stands like there was no tomorrow, and then all of a sudden after a long marriage and a divorce, he was beaten up.
We reconnected by chance. He found me on the Internet. He needed to work on his game. And thanks to a cop, thanks to a cool cop, some great advice and one last night of drinking and not meeting women he was able to reconnect with me.
Five years later, Brett is now working with me.
He’s head coach. One of the best coaches I’ve ever had. Brett’s actually re-worked some of my systems so they work for a suburban guys. Guys that are living in small towns and struggle to meet women. He knows that situation inside-out because that’s Brett’s life right now. I’m the big city guy, he’s the suburban guy.
Over the next couple of weeks, you’re going to get to know Brett because he’s now a big part of my team.
Brett’s one of my best friends. Brett is somebody that I rely on for a lot of things. As you know, I don’t really have coaches or other people alongside me.
And I very rarely have anyone else write for you guys, but you’re going to hear a lot from Brett. Brett understands a lot about what you guys are doing. He understands what it’s like to live in the suburbs and not have game. He knows what it’s like to really have to work on meeting women
It’s going to be a lot of fun for you guys to meet Brett, and I know you’re going to enjoy him a lot. I can’t wait to see what he’s going to bring to the table here at davidwygant.com.
