Great stuff. Always use your surroundings and events that she is engaged in, as your "opener". I like to go to rodeos, (like country gals) and ask them if they've ever "rode" a bull or something funny, like that. When she says no, "how bought a cowboy?". Like David says, approach is really just incorporating the surroundings, and making it fun for her.

Guys who don't get it will never understand the power of teasing. I've actually had guys tell me to quit teasing a girl and be nice. You know what though? Teasing girls works. Being super nice and respectful only works if you want to get very talented at masturbating. Just the other week I was at the movie Inception (great movie by the way). Some friends and I sat down, and I ended up next to a girl who was very obviously on a date with the guy next to her. She ended up talking to me more than she talked to him. Hell, once the movie started and she started getting confused, she kept trying to talk to me about it instead of him, which was annoying but a little bit flattering. How can "nice guys" watch playful, fun teasing work so well, and still insist that it's better to do what continues to not work?

Collin, I think the big misconception that a lot of nice guys have, is that it makes you a disrespectful asshole to tease. I also think that a lot of guys associate confidence with being an asshole, due to feeling insecure or weak around confident people. You know, like... "Why would I want to be confident? Confidence offends people, look what it does to me!" That sort of thing.

Collin, My take on your question is that teasing is not part of the nice guys reality. He thinks its bad, even if he sees it working. Kinda like when I went bungee jumping the first time. I saw others jump, and yet when it was my turn, I was scared as hell at first, because I thought bad stuff might happen to me.

Wow this blog is awesome. Recently I was teasing a girl who is working at the gym that I frequent. Everything she said, I would turn it around and tease her with it. She started calling me an idiot at one point. It got so far that she asked me if I thought her eyes were beautifull. I said:"I don't know, let me take a look" and stared into her eyes, building sexual tension. Here are some other fun teasing situations: When on a movie date, suggest to share the popcorn. As you and your date are watching the movie, and he or she grabs for the popcorn, slap his/her hand and push it away, and smile. If you go for icecream, order some whipped cream, complain to your date that there is too much whipped cream on the ice cream, and wipe some of it on your dates nose. This has to be done quick though. Throw some ice cubes in your dates t shirt.

Farley, I think you hit it on the head. Nice Guys are so concerned about being respectful that anything that isn't completely safe to talk about must be avoided. They aren't thinking about whether it's working since they don't actually know what works. They would never look for what they didn't know to look for. However, they do see teasing as not 100% respectful and safe, which triggers their Nice Guy Rescue Alarm. Regarding flirting, my favorite thing to do is think, "What would 5 year old Collin do?" Then I do exactly that. Usually it involves (playfully) pulling any pig tails in sight. Sometimes I have to settle for a ponytail. As long as it comes off as playful, girls absolutely love it. A little playful shove followed by, "Watch it, punk!" is another great one. The ones who won't play along probably aren't worth spending any time on anyways.

Collin, If she gets offended by the shove, raise one eyebrow and say: "What? You want to take this outside? Let's settle this". It worked for me. But the again, not everyone has a sense of humor, so thos people are not worth the time.

I think one of my biggest frustrations when I started getting better with women was that so few girls really seemed to be worth my time. I used to think there were tons of women I could potentially date, so seeing it go down from hundreds to just one or two was something I wasn't used to. The girls that are worth my time though are so much more fun to be around though, and I think other guys will find it's true for them too.

I'm referring specifically to the 'energy bar' 'flirtation', where you referred to her as a 'good girl' for getting a different energy bar and showing you. Teasing is the best part of flirting, but your approach is so cheesy, it would make most women cringe.

as a girl, i love to be teased, and can dish it out too. but be careful: some teasers are a-holes and some are hotties. it's all in how you go about it. ice cube down her shirt? i dont think so. tug her ponytail? sure. turn around something she said to tease her? some, but dont do that with everything she says or she'll end up annoyed. shove her and say "move, punk"? now you're being obnoxious.

As a female, one who also grew up with 3 older brothers...teasing does not and will not work on me. Most men are not kind or playful with teasing they are mean and fault finding which is more like bullying. I can't stand to be around them or other co-workers I've had who do this, what a turn off! Grow the ____ up instead. I am beautiful, tall and successful. I'm interested only in a man who is kind, courteous, has a sense of humor which is different than teasing, honest, faithful etc. Sarah is right in the above statement...be careful, there is kind, fun teasing (rare) and most I've seen is mean. If a guy at work is married, I don't need him teasing me like he's flirting w/me...I'm not interested, period. Yes, some women actually do respect that a man is married to someone else and are not interested in him.
