Happy new year.
Now, what are you going to do with it?
What’s your resolution going to be? What’s your intent going to be? How are you going to live this year?
What changes are you going to make? Who are you going to use to support you?
Who are you going to reach out to for help?
That is what I want to talk to you about very briefly today.
This isn’t going to be a longwinded article.
This isn’t going to be a post that’s going to scrape you up and support you in your new year’s resolutions because, hey, I don’t even know what your new year’s resolution is.
But this is what I want your intent to be all year.
I want 2017 — for all of you, my faithful readers, the people I respect the most, the people I honor the most — I want all of you to use one magical four letter word this year.
The word is not fuck.
The word is not shit.
The word I want you to use this year is the word that your ego is not going to like.
It’s a word that your ego is going to have to learn how to deal with.
Help is the magic word.
In 2017, I want you to use the word “help” as often as possible.
When you’re not feeling well, ask for help. When you’re confused about a relationship, ask for help.
You’r stuck making changes in your life and you know you can’t do it on your own. Ask for help.
You’re having trouble negotiating a raise at work and you don’t know how to talk to your boss. Ask somebody for help.
You’re on a project at work, and it’s a project that really might define your career, and you’re stuck with something. Reach out and ask for help.
I want you to use the world as your help.
Not Google. I don’t want you to Google and read somebody else’s articles or somebody else’s stuff, I want you to find people in your life that will help mentor you and help you through things in life that will allow you to become more powerful in 2017.
You have trouble working out? Instead of getting online and watching another video or reading another article, I want you to find a friend or hire a trainer, somebody who can help you.
You have trouble in dating, in relationships, you have trouble meeting somebody, you have trouble in your relationships? Don’t go to the same friends that have helped you the same way, that have given you the same result, find — reach somebody. Find somebody who you respect.
Find a mentor, maybe myself.
Or somebody else who resonates with you and reach out and spend the money and go get help.
Things will never change unless you reach out for help. And that, my friends, is my 2017 intent.
You noticed I call it intent and not resolution.
You see, I’ve taken my life as far as I can take it.
I’m having issues having more time with my daughter, so I’m going to go to the right people and get help. I am no longer going to try to work it out the way I’ve been trying to work it out.
There are things I want to change in my business, so I’m going to the right people to ask them for help.
I’m no longer going to do the things the way I’ve been doing it because I can’t succeed that way. I’ve been waiting for other people to change, other people to have compassion, other people to understand how I feel.
And that’s never going to happen.
You see, I’ve spent 2016 recycling, and circulating, and having the same conversations with the same people over, and over, and over again.
Hoping that my ex would actually understand and actually support more time with my daughter.
Trying to get a new parenting agreement on my own, which hasn’t worked.
Yeah, I’m sharing something personal. You know why? Because partly, because of what I want all of you to experience in 2017 is to be full vulnerable, full on raw authenticity and not give a shit about hurting somebody or worrying about what somebody else is feeling, or thinking, or doing, or saying.
Because you’re only hurting yourself.
You see, when I was with my ex, I said I would never talk about our personal life on the blog, and that was her thing. I’ve always talked about my personal life in a blog because that’s who I am, and that’s what made my brand strong, and what’s what made my business strong. Because all of you, if you see me going through things that are personal, you will actually start to see me as the person that I am and you’ll feel more comfortable than really relating to me and actually communicating with me. We’ll all grow together.
So all of us are going to be authentic, transparent.
And we are no longer going to not ask for help. Help.
Any of you that have been through divorce and dealt with things like this, help. I’m looking for good guidance. Help.
Because I know I can help you through relationships, and meeting people, and help you become better, and stronger, and more powerful, and make more money. Ask for my help and I will be there. It’s going to work both ways for us. This is going to be a good year.
