“What do I do when a girl flakes on me?”

Today’s email comes from Gary who asks…

“David, please tell me what I’m doing wrong. I’ve taken three different girls out now on a first date. Each time it felt like it went well. I felt like I connected with each girl and really thought I’d done enough to get to at least date two.

So imagine how confused and pi##ed I am when ALL THREE girls flake on me!

Two didn’t even bother returning my calls, and the other one just kept making excuses why she couldn’t see me. I’m a nice guy, I’m not bad looking, and the dates were going great. Why the sudden change of heart?”

DAVID SAYS…

Gary, flaking is just part of dating. You meet a woman, you connect, you date, you send her a text, and you never hear back from her. You might even call her and get no response time after time. Just make sure you always leave a voicemail if you call a woman. If you just keep calling without leaving a message she’s going to wonder who the creepy guy is that doesn’t leave a message. It’s the quickest way to guarantee you never hear back from a girl.

When it comes to dating, you’re going to run into women who flake. You can’t do anything to prevent it. In fact, I haven’t called Allstate recently but I know they don’t do flake insurance. It’d be the best selling policy if they did. Imagine ringing an insurance company and asking if they can cover you for the women who won’t answer your calls after your first date.

So What Do You Do If A Woman Flakes?

What do you do if you’ve texted a few times, she’s texted back, then suddenly she stops texting and you don’t hear from her?

Well I have a couple of fun things I always suggest you do to keep the whole thing light.

This is one of my favorite texts to send to a “flaker”…

“Have we broken up already?  (Smiley face)  This is ridiculous… this could be the fastest breakup I’ve ever had. I think we should give us another chance!”

Another great text I like to send is…

“I was wondering… have you been camping?”

Sometimes I’ll just send that alone.  Other times I’ll send…”Hey, I was wondering…have you been camping because all I hear is crickets on my end?”

These usually get a very funny response from a woman. You may as well have fun with it because you can’t avoid women flaking. It’s going to happen, whoever you are, and whatever you look like. You can’t take it personally. Don’t sweat it, and don’t let it stop you getting out there and meeting new women. Just because one girl flaked on you, it doesn’t mean the next one will too.

Maybe she’s a game player and she wants you to text her a few times before she finally gives in. Often women read some stupid book or some manual that tells her she needs to make men chase. Just relax and have fun with it. Try sending one of my sarcastic text messages. If she’s not interested, she’ll only ignore it anyway!
