Think Before You Get Married
By David Wygant
Before all of you women on the blog get all bent out of shape, this blog in not about being anti-marriage. Marriage is great . . . for some people.
I think marriage is wonderful if you want to create a family. If the idea of incubating germ factories and schlepping extra crap around all day long is fun for you, then by all means think about marriage. If you like to drive vehicles the size of a New York City condominium, this too is a sign that you should by all means consider married.
It’s not that I have anything against children. I love other people’s children . . . because you can give them back. It’s also not that I have anything against SUVs, except that I think they’re offensive and I hate driving behind them. Not only that, but you really don’t need to be in a car the size of a New York City apartment.
This blog, however, is not about my dislike of SUVs or why I don’t want children. Yeah, I know what all you mothers out there are saying: “David, you just haven’t met the right woman yet and haven’t experienced how having children will change you.”
Yes, it’s true that my whole life would change. The thing is that I happen to love my life. I enjoy being able to travel when I want, work 24/7, and date whomever I want. What this blog is really about, though, is the pain of divorce.
One of the hardest things a person can go through is a divorce. Breaking up the family, settling the assets, and moving out of the marital home are just a few of the extremely tough things men and women deal with during the divorce process.
Not only that, but getting back into the dating world after being out of it for five, ten or fifteen years is really difficult for most people. For those people with children, a divorce means having to juggle being a parent while re-entering the dating world.
A lot of people in the dating industry target their products and services to men and women who have never been married. Most people who are single over the age of thirty, though, have taken at least one trip down memory lane. It’s tough to get back into the dating world after not being in it for ten years.
There are a lot of issues people don’t think about before they are divorced. They don’t think how their kids will react to mom or dad dating. They don’t think about what it’s really like to have to either support two households or make it on their own.
So before you get divorced – or really before you get married – think about everything. Divorce is not fun. Being in a bad marriage is really not fun.
Life is a marathon, not a sprint. So, spend some time thinking about the repercussions of your actions.
Todays video is all about having fun and learning how to break out of your comfort zone.
Watch and see how I teach Matt and the guys how to just be fun and outrageous.
